Man dies after being pinned under truck

A man has died after being trapped under a truck for 30 minutes at Beenleigh Marketplace.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said the man became trapped following a collision with a prime mover truck just before 2.30pm today (Wednesday 6 March).

“The 65-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital but was pronounced deceased on arrival,” a police statement later said.

Emergency crews arrived soon after 2.30pm and used airbags to lift the truck off the man just before 3pm, the QFES spokesperson said.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

He was suffering from “serious leg injuries”.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision or CCTV from the area to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances.
