Man ‘impaled’ on a fence

A MAN was last week impaled on a fence at Woodridge after trying climb into a gated community on Tuesday afternoon.

Ambulance senior operations supervisor Adrian Tong said the man had been locked out, and when he tried to climb the fence, slipped due to the wet weather.

The fence entered through his knee and impaled half-way down his leg.

Mr Tong said he was stuck at the top of the fence for a “short period of time” and had to be held off the ground while rescue officers cut the fence free.

He was taken to Princess Alexandra hospital “conscious, but in a fair bit of pain”.

“It seemed he was trying to scale the fence and slipped at the top of the gate,” Mr Tong said.
