Following an overnight search an 83-year-old man has been found deceased near the Carbrook Boat Ramp.
Police say the man left the ramp in his boat on Wednesday 5 August and was expected to return about 3pm, but failed to do so.
Officers found his car and trailer still parked at the ramp and launched a search involving Water Police vessels, Polair, Marine Rescue Queensland and Coastguard.
The man’s unoccupied 15-foot aluminium boat was located overnight near the Carbrook and Alberton boat ramps.
Police found the man about one kilometre from the Carbrook ramp around 8.30am on Thursday 6 August.
The search operation has concluded and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
