At only six-years-old, Eagleby’s Hendrix De Marchii has already built a pet-treat business, but now he is taking his next big step on the road to success — as a pop singer.
The young entrepreneur behind Hendrix Pet Co has released his debut single, Take Me There, a high-energy track inspired by late-1990s bubblegum pop.
Hendrix said the song grew from the same ambition that drove him to start selling dog treats at local parks.
“Take Me There is about my business and about a life of success and never giving up,” he said.
“Whatever you put your mind to, you can accomplish.”
Hendrix said he had always loved singing and writing his own songs and had dreamed of performing on stage.
“I’ve always wanted to be on stage since I was little,” he said.
“It’s a dream come true.”
He said hearing the finished track for the first time made him feel proud, affirming that he believed that everyone could find success.
“I felt really proud of myself because there is an answer to everything in life and there is also an answer for everyone in life and everyone can be successful,” Hendrix said.
For Hendrix, filming the music video proved memorable for reasons beyond just the music.
“I got tangled up in the leads and fell over and grazed my side,” Hendrix said.
“I played with the dogs, which was fun, and I met lots of kids that were in the video.
“It was a long day, but it was awesome and it was worth it.”
The song’s message reflects Hendrix’s determined outlook.
He names Eminem’s Lose Yourself as his biggest musical inspiration because of its focus on persistence and seizing opportunities.
“He inspires me to never give up because everyone has opportunities but some people don’t decide to take them,” Hendrix said.
“Opportunities can come only once so you take it and you show up.
“I say yes, even if I don’t know how to do it, because I will learn.”
Hendrix has already turned that attitude into a growing business, media appearances and now his first music release.
And he is not planning on slowing down.
“I have my next song ready to be recorded,” he said.
“So you will have to follow me on socials to learn about it,” he said.
