Logan has bolstered its police ranks with the addition of 10 new officers following the latest Queensland Police Service graduation.
The recruits are among 136 officers sworn in at a ceremony on 30 January, as QPS continues to strengthen its recruitment pipeline.
The officers will be stationed across various locations in the Logan District, with Browns Plains and Logan Central each receiving two officers.
Other areas welcoming new recruits include Beenleigh, Crestmead, Loganholme, Logan Village, and Springwood.
Queensland Police Commissioner Steve Gollschewski APM said the new cohort sets the tone for another strong year of recruitment.
“I am pleased to welcome these new officers into the QPS and know they will serve their communities with honour,” Commissioner Gollschewski said.
“This year, QPS is reaffirming its commitment to a strong recruitment pipeline, with a focus on attracting the right people that align with our values.”
Recruits have completed eight and a half months of training, developing skills in community safety, handling mental health-related incidents, and investigating domestic and family violence cases.
Training also included practical and scenario-based learning.
QPS saw a 36 per cent increase in appointments in 2024 compared to the previous year, with Commissioner Gollschewski looking forward to further recruitment success in 2025.
