Logan teens charged after attempted robbery on Brisbane walking track

Two Logan teenagers have been charged following an attempted robbery in inner Brisbane.

A Boronia Heights boy, 16, and an Underwood man, 19, are among three teenagers charged over a series of incidents.

The charges relate to an incident around midday on 31 March near the William Jolly Bridge.

A 23-year-old woman was walking along a track when two males on e-scooters approached her and allegedly tried to take her headphones.

When she refused, police allege they verbally abused her and spat at her near Lang Parade in Auchenflower, before riding off.

The woman was not physically injured.

Police searched the area, shortly after the incident was reported at 1pm, but did not find the boys at the time.

Further enquiries linked the group to 11 similar incidents across inner Brisbane between 31 March and 4 April.

On 7 April, police searched a home in Woodridge and arrested three teenagers. A flick knife was found at the house, police said.

The Boronia Heights boy has been charged with three counts of common assault, as well as robbery and stealing.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Brisbane Children’s Court on 8 April.

The Underwood man has been charged with multiple offences, including robbery, attempted robbery and nine counts of common assault.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 8 April.

A 16-year-old boy from Acacia Ridge has also been charged with three counts of common assault.

He is due to appear in the Brisbane Children’s Court on 17 April.

Investigations are ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
