Logan sun to let hydrogen cars shine

The Hyundai NEXO would have to be one of the most advanced cars on the road anywhere in Queensland. This is world-leading, emissions free technology.

Queensland has become one of the first states in the nation to add hydrogen to its government fleet, and that means there are now five NEXOs available to our nurses, TAFE teachers and other frontline staff.

It’s good news for many reasons.

One – this road test opens the door to a multi-billion industry and thousands of decent, secure jobs for Queenslanders.

Two – I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of paying too much for fuel.

Three – we can be harnessing the very sun above us to power this new, clean fuel source in Queensland-made renewable hydrogen.

There are more than 46,000 rooftop solar systems in Logan. I had panels installed just in the last few weeks myself.

In fact, Logan homes and businesses produce more solar power than Queensland’s largest operating solar farm.

On any given day, up to 220 megawatts of this cleaner, cheaper energy is being generated from Daisy Hill to Jimboomba.

The last thing we want to do is see any of that solar go to waste.

Why not soak it all up to power electrolysers and produce renewable hydrogen here in Queensland?

As for the striking decal design, it’s a special thanks to Indigenous-owned creative company Iscariot Media for such an amazing job.
