Logan’s climate has been most closely compared to the US state of Louisiana, according to the Koppen Climate Classification system.
The entire southeast corner of Queensland is said to have weather akin to Louisiana’s humid heat and mild winters, with local vegetation and biodiversity also said to closely match.
The Koppen map, developed by German botanist Wladimir Koppen, closely aligned the weather in Finland with Melbourne’s chilly frost, with Tasmania matching up best with Alaska.
Inland and western parts of Queensland were linked with southern Texas, with pockets in Queensland’s north most closely resembling northern India and Thailand.
