A Logan resident has been recognised in a national gardening campaign for her work supporting community growing and sustainable living.
Doreen Jachmann received the Local Grower Award through the Grow It Local initiative. She founded Permaculture Connect, a Logan-based group that helps residents develop skills to grow their own food.
Her work was highlighted during a community garden tour at Yarrabilba on March 30, where locals joined gardening activities.
The event, supported by Logan City Council, focused on planting herbs, vegetables and flowers while promoting sustainability and reducing food waste.
