Like so many people in Logan I’m a migrant, my family and I arrived in Australia when I was 13 to build a life in a sunny paradise. What I love about our city is that no matter what your background is, you can call this place home. Our diversity is our strength and I can see that every day in our growing community.
I’ve been lucky to work on the ground in our city on and off over the years with stints in-between in the State Government in agencies like Justice, Employment and Small Business and now get to work at a local charity supporting and advocating for some of our communities most vulnerable people.
I’m incredibly passionate about helping others which is why I’ve been involved with a number of local organisations that make such a big difference in our community including the Loganlea Community Centre where I served on the board, PCYC where I mentored young people, the Logan Village Lions and the Yarrabilba Community Garden which are all about community service and connecting with people.
In my spare time I take my two dogs Bayley and Watson on walks and love visiting our many great cafes on weekends.
Why should people vote for you?
I believe I’ve got the right experience and background in Government and Community Services to be a good voice for our suburbs. I want our community to be more regularly consulted on what goes on around them and focus on making sure that every member of our community is served by our council.
What would you aim to deliver for your community?
I would like our community to have more regular input in Councils priorities, a common issue that is raised with me by residents is that they don’t feel consulted or heard.
As an example the most common issue raised with me in Yarrabilba is the lack of dedicated spaces for teenagers, it’s something we are all aware of and yet nothing ever happens. Let’s build a skate park and give young people something to do rather than get in trouble on the streets.
Why did you decide to run for council?
I love the work I get to do in our community and want to continue that at a higher level. I feel that our community needs an active and dedicated voice in Council, someone who will show up to get things done and wants to work with community to make a difference.
What suburb do you live in?

How long have you been in the area?

In 250 words or less, tell us about yourself and your community attributes.
I was born and bred in Logan. Since the age of 19, I have actively engaged in community work, starting as a young rugby league coach, which I have continued to this day. Becoming a young father and seeing the positive impact being  involved within the community can have on other people, this quickly became a life-long passion of mine.

More recently, I have been heavily involved in the mental health and suicide prevention sector as a director, ambassador and mental health first aid trainer. I have been fortunate enough to carry out community work in a number of capacities, ranging from youth development programs, mental health first aid training, free community events, free mental health awareness talks, and much more.
I have always been a person that will help anyone out without seeking any recognition.
I base everything I do, both personally and professionally on relationships. This has enabled me to run a business, team of nation-wide mental health ambassadors, and continue my most important relationship, my family.
Why should people vote for you?
I have 40 years life experience in Logan. I am a husband, father and business owner who has lived and breathed this community my whole life. I will listen to and take on what the community needs and advocate for the people of Division 4. I bring fresh ideas with old school values.
What would you aim to deliver for your community?
I am not going to stand here and make any promises I can not keep. With my experience in community work, particularly with our youth, my focus will be to build better connection, pride and purpose, creating positive community connections for our young people.
I will advocate for services within the community. I believe it will be my role to ensure I am a voice and advocate for Division 4. I will also continue to deliver free mental health first aid training within the community to help the people of Division 4 to further support each other.
My real life experience from having my own business means I will be able to work with council staff on being able to achieve the right outcomes, and if something is not achievable, I’ll be able to explain why and not talk in riddles. Relationships with not just the community, but council staff, State and Federal members are critical and I have the knowledge, skills and personality to build successful relationships that are nothing but productive.
Why did you decide to run for council?
Working in our community has long been a passion of mine. Through various avenues, I have been an active community member for over 21 years. With 40 years life experience living in Logan, I know I can make a positive impact on the continued growth of our area.
What suburb do you live in?

How long have you been in the area?
I have lived in the area for 40 years.

Occupation: Councillor Advisor

Age: 34

I’ve proudly lived in our Division and worked for local Council for the past decade, and during that time I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of our incredible Division 4 locals.
Over the years I have also held several volunteer community roles, supporting charities, schools, social clubs, sporting organisations and businesses in the area.
I have been out and about meeting residents to find out what is important to you. I have also asked residents what they would like from me as their area Councillor. Residents told me they need an active and engaged Councillor, committed to the whole Division – someone who listens to them, assists community organisations, supports local businesses, advocates for positive change and stands up when it matters. I am that person.
In Logan, we have a community spirit second to none. I believe an important element of a healthy community is a sense of connectedness and I intend to foster that. I am a passionate advocate for my community and have taken on many volunteer community roles supporting charities, schools, social clubs, sporting organisations and businesses in the area. I was awarded a Wonderful Women of Waterford award in 2023 in recognition of my dedication and commitment to serving the people of Division 4 and the broader community. I intend to apply the same drive and dedication I’ve shown in my volunteer roles and in my Council role to the position of Councillor for Division 4 if elected.

Why should people vote for you?
I am running for Division 4 in our city because I believe in Logan and our community. A decade working in Council has given me a deep understanding of its processes, and working directly with the community has given me insight into the real issues faced by our community. I have lived and worked in our division for over a decade, have been active in community groups and believe my knowledge wisdom and experience will give me the advantage to have a positive impact on our Division. I am committed to being a strong voice for OUR Community!

What would you aim to deliver for your community?
I have loved hearing from people in the division about what they would like to see for our area. My aim is to deliver on these priorities that are important to our community, or advocate to further levels of government if outside of Council’s control. The priorities I’m hearing from Division 4 residents include safer roads, with upgraded infrastructure for the growing population, solutions for cost of living pressures, upgraded park facilities, more dog off leash areas and better access to programs and services.

If elected in the March, my vision is to foster a vibrant, connected, and safe region – a place where families want to live and where communities thrive. I am committed to keeping downward pressure on our rates across the city. As your area Councillor, I will continue to listen and work hard in partnership with our community to deliver on your priorities, including:
– Upgrades to local roads and footpaths
– Expanding tree planting, landscaping and parks projects
– Increasing the CCTV camera network
– Continuing to support local sporting and community groups
– Installing further traffic safety devices
-Supporting environmental initiatives
– Working with Council to establish better communication with residents and to provide a higher standard of community engagement

Why did you decide to run for council?
I have worked in Council for over 10 years now and have loved working alongside our community and being part of delivering some fantastic projects in this time. With Cr Koranski’s recent announcement that she will not contest the election this year, the time has come for me now to take the next step and to put myself forward as the next candidate to provide a strong voice for the Division 4 community. I am passionate about the area I live and work in and want to continue working with our community to achieve wonderful things at a local council level and beyond.

What suburb do you live in?
I’m proud to say I’m the only candidate for Division 4 (thus far) who lives in Division 4. I live in Yarrabilba.

How long have you been in the area?
I have lived and worked in the Division 4 community specifically for over a decade now.
