Built on teamwork, trust, and continual growth, Checkmate is led by Luke and Sue Ann, who share over two decades of experience and a passion for protecting properties and improving people’s lives.
Luke began his pest management career straight out of high school in 2000, while Sue Ann’s journey started with a love for small business and grew into leadership in both operations and the field.
Despite knowing nothing about pest control at first, her curiosity turned into a genuine love for the industry, and she became a qualified timber (termites) and urban pest technician, proving that with training and support, anyone can too.
Together, they’re active in leading the industry, supporting professionalism, sharing knowledge, and promoting best practice in pest management.
A career in pest management means every day is different, inspecting, problem-solving, and protecting properties across many environments. From commercial facilities to family homes where you soon feel part of the family, then into roof voids and subfloors, the work is hands-on, varied, and rewarding.
