Lemonade stands have made a comeback, with kids all around Logan setting up shop on their lawns or outside businesses to make some extra pocket money.
In the last couple of months, Lemonade stands run by kids have been spotted in the streets of Waterford, Park Ridge, Yarrabilba, Flagstone and Mt Warren Park.
Siblings Noah (9), Aria (8), Amarliah (6) and Sophia (2) Jordan are reaping the rewards of this newfound popularity – setting up their own lemonade stand outside a business in Mt Warren Park.
Mum, Kylie Jordan said the kids started selling homemade lemonade and freshly baked good back in 2023 to earn some extra money and this year they are saving for a cruise at Christmas.
“They do a stand every few months outside of my gym (Fitstop at Mt Warren Park) and they’ve also done a few other places,” she said.
“So far they have made roughly around $800 to go towards the cruise.”
Mrs Jordan said it’s all about learning “essential skills”.
“They never understood why we worked during school holidays, so I thought it would be really good way of showing them the importance of working, earning and saving,” she said.
“We buy all the materials for them, and then we take that out of the profits they make so they know it’s not free, then that gets put aside for their next stall to purchase everything they need again.”
“We believe these are very essential skills to have.”
The siblings recently held a stand outside Fitstop in Mt Warren Park selling a mix of cookies, including Nutella and Biscoff stuffed cookies for $2 and freshly squeezed lemonade for $1.
Mrs Jordan said everything was homemade and made from scratch.
“We make the cookies the morning of, so they are still fresh,” she said.
“Unfortunately, at our last stand we had to cut it short because of the rain, so we will be doing another one again soon.”
“The kids absolutely love it.”
Mrs Jordan said the next stand will be on Sunday 12 April outside Fitstop at Mt Warren Park.
