A Kingston woman, 30, has been charged with murder more than a decade after the death of a baby girl.
New information about the three-month-old baby’s death was revealed to police in January this year, more than 12 years after she died.
Paramedics attended a Redland Bay address on 2 September 2011, in relation to a “baby girl not breathing”, police said.
The baby was transported to the Redland Bay Hospital and later the Mater Children’s Hospital, where she died on 6 September 2011.
“The matter was investigated at the time, with the status of the investigation remaining undetermined,” a police statement read.
Police received further information about what happened just two months ago.
On Friday 8 March, the Kingston woman was arrested and charged.
