When the going gets tough, seniors turn to technology

This week is Seniors Week and some are using the celebrations to ramp up their electronic connections.

Psychologist Fiona Muller (pictured) runs a number of workshops at Kingston East Community Centre as part of an Older Person Action Program organised by Logan City Council.

This year’s Seniors Week is a virtual event, and nbn is playing a role by informing members of our community of the value of being connected over the internet.

“But many still have questions and concerns,” a representative said.

“Our community ambassador program is still running and while our ambassadors may not be out talking to people in the traditional way; we are still available virtually. Queenslanders can now book a one-on-one session with an nbn representative via video link or phone meaning the community can still get their questions answered during COVID-19.”

Those interested can now book a session with an nbn representative to get help with:

  • When the nbn network is available for your home or business
  • Process of getting the nbn network installed in your home or business
  • How the nbn network is delivered in your area
  • The role of nbn and phone/internet providers in your area
  • Tips for optimising the nbn experience in your home

To book in a 15-minute session, people need simply to send an email to nbnsessions@nbn.com.au with  first name, preferred business day/time and a quick summary of how they need help.
