TWO Logan actors will play a leading role in a musical featuring 50s and 60s hits as The Marvelous Wonderettes from April 16-18.
The pair, Aimee Monument and Rebecca Kenny Sumiga, are travelling with the cast as they perform in one show at a jazz restaurant on the Gold Coast before heading to Calamvale Community College’s CPAC, and later to the Sunshine Coast’s Black Box Theatre.
Lollipop, Stupid Cupid and Lipstick on Your Collar will be familiar tunes to many.
And they’re at the heart of this smash off-Broadway hit which transports guests to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy are four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts.
In act two, the Wonderettes reunite to take the stage and perform at their ten-year reunion.
The play talks about the highs and lows the girls have experienced in the past decade and are charmed to find that no matter what life throws their way, they will conquer it together.
The show features more than 30 classic ’50s and ’60s hits.
Tickets are $35 general admission and $30 for seniors (55+).
