Logan is growing everyday, in fact it will reach half a million residents by 2036, and I am committed to ensuring critical infrastructure and services grow with us.
Everyday it’s easy to see the big build progressing on the M1 and Busway expansion, vital infrastructure that is getting you home to your family sooner and safer.
This massive project includes additional lanes, an extension of the busway and active transport infrastructure, but it also means we’ll need to make some changes to accommodate it.
One of those changes is to move the Springwood Ambulance Station.
I’ve been determined to retain the facility in our neighbourhood and am pleased to announce that its replacement will be constructed across three blocks of land recently acquired by the Miles Government, just around the corner on Vanessa Boulevard at Springwood.
You’re invited to have your say on the location and design, by logging in to this consultation website here:
The Big Build is also delivering a massive expansion to the Logan Hospital with 206 additional beds, the centrepiece of which is now open!
We’ll start work right away on the Stage 2 Expansion which will be a further boost, with another 112 extra overnight beds as well as more surgical theatres.
Whether it’s a bigger, better Ambulance station, or a bigger, better local hospital, it’s terrific to see a strengthened public hospital and health system, employing even more doctors, nurses, midwives, paramedics and health professionals to deliver better healthcare here in Logan.
