MARK and Nikki Godrey will miss spending their days overlooking views of Stradbroke Island.
They’re leaving their Cornubia home where they raised their children and ran their business.
The house is a hilltop Queenslander with panoramic views that the Godreys have been in since it was built more than 20 years ago at Cornubia.
High on the hill at Chantilly Heights, its two storeys feature four bedrooms, two bathrooms and dual living potential, as well as a wraparound veranda with 360-degree views as far out to Stradbroke Island.
Mr and Mrs Godrey said the view is one of the features they’ll miss the most, but there were other conveniences that they’ve enjoyed.
“Unfortunately, we have to sell due to moving away from the area for work,” they said.
“The features we love the most about the home are the cool breezes, the quiet, friendly and close-knit neighbourhood, the views out across the open fields and the distant view to Stradbroke Island.
“It is a great family home to create and make your own.”
Having been in the home to see their family grow up, they know the local schools well and have been pleased with the proximity to all amenities.
With regards the house itself, there’s an option for dual living downstairs.
Mr and Mrs Godrey said the home is great for those with teenagers or those who often have visitors.
“Having a teenager retreat or a place for visitors to stay has always been an added bonus and with a six-foot fence it offered us privacy and security,” they said.
The property is close to public and private schools, Cornubia Shopping Centre, Riverlakes Golf Course and is less than 15 minutes’ drive to the Logan Hyperdome.
It also has a double lock-up garage and plenty of yard space for a boat or caravan.
“If you are a boat lover, a boat ramp is just down the road and you will find some great fishing spots beside the Logan River which is just a short stroll down to the end of street,” Mr and Mrs Godrey said.
“Chantilly Heights also offers a great park with barbecues to cook your weekend picnic lunch.”
The hilltop Queenslander is located at 12 Beacon Drive, Cornubia and will go to auction November 10.
It will be part of a Ray White spring/summer auction at Calamvale Hotel which will see 30 properties put under the hammer.
