A landfill fire at Heritage Park was being brought under control this morning (Monday 8 May).
Multiple fire crews were at the commercial premises at Recycle Way.
An early morning statement said crews were working to bring the fire under control but it was generating thick black smoke in the area.
Nearby residents were being asked to close their windows and doors, and those suffering from a respiratory condition were being asked to keep their medications close by.
Motorists in the area were being told to drive with caution and to conditions.
