Helping navigate home care packages

Right at Home Greater Logan is dedicated to caring for the elderly and those living with a disability in the local community.

But how do the most vulnerable members of our community access funding for this important care?

“Right at Home Australia is an Approved Provider under the Aged Care Act, meaning we can provide quality care under a government-funded package, and we also provide care to private pay clients,” a company representative said.

“Approved Providers such as Right at Home, are private or public businesses that have satisfied the Department of Health’s requirements to provide high quality home care services to eligible recipients.”

My Aged Care is the Australian Government platform designed to help the elderly access government-funded care under the Home Care Packages scheme.

A Home Care Package supports older Australians who need assistance to remain living in their own homes which effectively subsidises the cost of home care for those eligible.

There are four levels of Home Care Packages to help meet varying degrees of care needs. The type of care services is unchanged between each level, but the allocated hours increase for higher level needs from level 1 to 4.

As an approved provider of care under the Home Care Packages (HCP) scheme, Right at Home provides dementia care, disability care, domestic support, shopping, transport, companionship care, personal and post-operative care, and skilled nursing.

“Our tailored services help you and your loved ones to maintain independence, and a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle to remain in your own home,” a company representative said.

“Right at Home is here to help you navigate the Home Care Packages scheme, so that you and your loved ones can receive the care you need, when and where you need it.

“We visit you in your home for an obligation-free consultation to explain the Home Care system and how we can help. We help you arrange a government ACAT Assessment, which will consider the level of care you need and the income you have.

“We can arrange for private pay care until your Home Care Package is approved. If that is the case, we enter into a Home Care Agreement with you, after which we develop a customised care plan centred around your specific needs.

“Our care difference is the quality of service we deliver which is all oriented around you and your needs. We also do not charge case management, admin or exit fees, so that your get more care hours out of your budget.”
