Christmas was extra tough for many families this year, mine included.
High food prices made it a real struggle to put a decent meal on the table, let alone buy presents for under the tree.
I can feel the pinch of these rising costs everywhere I shop – it is ridiculous how expensive our basic everyday necessities are getting – how can we keep up with this?
Trying to make ends meet during the holidays has been a real challenge for many families in Logan, and although mine did not need to rely on charity, I know many who did.
It’s disappointing when the joy of giving is overshadowed by the worry of stretching a tight budget.
I hope our leaders take a look at how these high prices are hitting families like mine.
Maybe there’s something they can do to make things a bit easier for folks with less to spend.
In tough times, we need our community to come together and find solutions so that everyone can have a brighter holiday season.
I am thankful for the many charity organisations in Logan who give their time to help those in need.
