This year Greenbank swimmer Mollie O’Callaghan set a new world record for women’s 200 metres freestyle at the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka.
The 19-year-olds time of 52.85 seconds eclipsed the record set by Frederica Pellegrini from Italy in 2009, and was her seventh record.
O’Callaghan’s gold medal win came just six weeks after a kneecap dislocation injury.
