A local real estate agency has turned pink in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Professionals City to Surf office in Beenleigh will join 170 other offices nation-wide to raise money for research by the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
For the rest of the month, a portion of every property sold by the agency will go towards NBCF.
The Beenleigh team is also raising funds online and at community events, with many pink-themed prizes to be won.
The Professionals brand has partnered with NBCF for two decades.
CEO of NBCF and associate professor Cleola Anderiesz said Professionals’ 20-year support was an extraordinary effort from a single organisation.
“Professionals is an exemplar of the power of a corporate network uniting in one goal to drive an outstanding philanthropic impact,’ Associate Professor Anderiesz said.
“Professionals has directly contributed to the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s 30-year history of funding world-class research, including 19 grants announced this year.”
She said the funded projects aimed to understand the genetic drivers of breast cancer in young women, improve screening technology, explore how cancer cells survive and spread, and identify better treatment options for aggressive breast cancer.
Over 20 years, $4.5 million has been donated to support breast cancer research.
In Australia, one in seven women will be diagnosed in their life.
NBCF’s vision is for there to be zero deaths from breast cancer in the country by 2030.
