It has been a big year for Greenbank residents Teri and Jason Burn as they swap jobs and win awards, and now they’ve decided to move homes.
In March, their tattoo parlour Tattoo Town, in Forest Lakes, was awarded second place at the Inala Electorate Small Business Awards 2023.
Also, Mr Burn began a new job as a truck driver.
Recently they decided to start packing their things and leave Logan for the Scenic Rim.
Mrs Burn said it wasn’t an easy decision to leave.
“… but it’s the decision we’ve made and that’s where we’re at,” Mrs Burn said.
“I think a family would be perfect in the house… especially if they’ve got young kids – with the space and the room and the pool and everything – just like we did,” she said.
“When we first moved in there our kids were younger and we’ve just created so many beautiful memories.”
They put a lot into the home, Mrs Burn said.
“The roof, solar panels, a shed, the pool,” she said.
Now, the property is on the market for over $1.2 million.
The home offers a large space surrounded by gumtrees, in a semi-rural area.
It has four bedrooms, a study, two bathrooms, a fireplace, a double sink kitchen with a granite benchtop and steam oven.
It also has an open-plan living and dining area with a bay window, providing natural light and a connection to the outdoors, a formal lounge and dining space, and a three-car bay garage.
“The house is way too big – it’s very large,” Mrs Burn.
“I’m a bit of a clean freak, and it’s doing my head in, so… I want a small house but bigger land.”
Outside, there’s a greenhouse, a garden shed, a new bitumen driveway, a greenhouse, and a large three-bay shed for storing vehicles and tools.
Although they’re sad to leave, Mrs Burn said they’re hoping to move to a bigger property with multiple dwellings.
“I’ve got one of my daughters and her husband moving in, so hopefully we will be a nice big family out there,” she said.
They’re currently on the lookout for a property – hopefully in Warrill View.
Mrs Burn said she wasn’t worried about selling.
“It’s the buying process that’s hard,” she said.
“Nothing’s available, everything’s under contract – everything’s going so quickly.
“It’s made it really difficult.”
