The former owner of a popular local cafe, who happens to be the sister of a sitting Logan City councillor, was reportedly convicted of drug trafficking last week.
Happy Dayz Cafe former-owner Lauren Vida Norris, the sister of Cr Mindy Russell, was sentenced to two years in prison for trafficking a dangerous drug, News Corp reported.
“The sentence was suspended with an operational period of four years,” it said.
Cr Russell had no involvement in the court proceedings, and refused to comment.
The restaurant changed hands on June 5 and now has new owners.
