Young sports enthusiasts are invited to experience flag football at a free come and try day on 24 January, 2025.
Flag football is a non-contact version of gridiron football, where defenders stop the ball carrier by removing a flag or flag belt instead of tackling.
Participants will have the chance to experience specialist coaching through drills and activities, providing a high-energy introduction to the sport.
Logan is quickly becoming a hotspot for NFL Flag football, thanks to its diverse, dynamic, and rapidly growing community.
Last year, the city hosted an introductory training session at Marsden State High School, which featured former NFL wide receiver Kenny Stills.
“I’m very impressed with the talent here, both boys and girls, and seeing their passion and skill level is incredible,” he said on the day.
“This sport offers them a unique opportunity to play internationally and gain exposure, so it’s about more than just having fun; it’s about unlocking future possibilities.”
The come and try event runs from 9:00am to 11:00am at Logan City Lions, 175 Beaudesert Beenleigh Road, Mount Warren Park, and is open to boys and girls aged 9 to 14.
No prior experience is required.
