Fitzy’s Waterford has reopened its doors after several weeks of renovation, with new spaces for dining, sport and families now part of the venue.
The pub resumed trading on Monday after refurbishment works across the hotel, including changes to the sports bar, bistro and outdoor areas.
The updated sports bar now features a large eight-metre screen designed for live sport.
The renovation has also added an elevated outdoor terrace that extends the dining space and overlooks a newly built children’s playground.
Venue manager Dave Pull said the renovation was about refreshing the venue and making it work better for a wider mix of locals.
“Fitzy’s Waterford is now a place for everyone, and we can’t wait to welcome locals, both old and new, through the doors,” Mr Pull said.
The bistro area has also been updated, with a revised menu focused on pub staples such as schnitzels, burgers and steaks, alongside a range of share-style dishes.
The outdoor terrace includes weather protection and a screen for sporting events, allowing people to watch games while dining outside. The space also looks directly onto the playground.
“We are so excited for people to enjoy the new terrace area that has created a new outdoor zone,” Pull said.
“It has complete weather protection so everyone can make the most of it for sports action and laidback drinking and dining all year round.”
A three-day community weekend is planned from 20 to 22 March, featuring live music, children’s activities, and giveaways to mark the reopening.
Mr Pull said the new deck space would also host regular entertainment.
“The deck will also host live music sessions from Friday to Sunday, with free kids’ entertainment every Sunday,” Mr Pull said.
