EMERGENCY services workers believe a fire at a Bethania retirement block last week might have been caused by a toaster.
About 50 people were evacuated from their units at SunnyCove Retirement in Snedden Street soon after 9pm last Wednesday.
Some people were treated for smoke inhalation, including a woman in her 60s who lived next door to the burning unit. She was taken to hospital.
Firefighters quickly bought the fire under control however one unit was destroyed.
Investigations continue.
