Residents affected by ex-tropical cyclone Alfred last week can now access financial assistance to help with recovery costs.
Eligible individuals can receive $180 in emergency payments, while families of five or more can access up to $900.
The payments are designed to cover essential items such as food, clothing, and medicine.
Community recovery hubs are also available to assist those experiencing hardship.
These hubs provide a space where residents can apply for grants and access emotional and wellbeing support.
Community recovery workers will assist with grant applications and offer referrals to other community organisations and government agencies for further assistance.
The community recovery hub will be open daily from tomorrow 9am until 4pm from 12 March until 5 April at the Beenleigh Events Centre, corner of Crete and Kent Streets, Beenleigh.
Residents can check their eligibility and apply by visiting qld.gov.au/disasterhelp or calling the Community Recovery QLD Hotline on 1800 177 349.
