Family playground for sale as housing lot

There was a day when people bought land as a place to escape from the city.

A 20-acre block of bushland at 396-402 Miller Road does not have a house on it, but it is equipped with a 450m long driveway and a private bitumen motorbike course.

Once a family weekend stakeout for picnics and riding, the block spans 20 acres of bushland close to all the main city areas.

The property has been listed for offers over $750,000 as a rural residential block.

Harcourts Property Beenleigh’s Brad Johnston knew the original owners, whose family occupied the block for several generations.

“They’d been there for a long, long time. It was owned by the parents and given to all the kids,” he said.

“They had motorbike tracks and picnics up there.”

The long driveway passes over two creek crossings, which continues through the property and connects with the motorbike trail.

Mr Johnston said property is a unique proposition today given land is hard to find around the Logan and for how private the block is.

“It’s a cracker property,” he said. “It’s a private block of land, you’re on your own mountain, it’s minutes to the shops, minutes to the schools, and then you can hide away from life.”

The original family sold it onto the last owner, who has not done much with the land. They intended to build a home on the block before moving away for work.

The block is connected to power, does not have any easements, and is not flood prone.
