4 July Star Wars | Put on your best Star Wars outfit and snap a selfie in front of the Millenium Falcon backdrop on 4 July and 11 July at the May the Force Be with You exhibition at the Logan City Historical Museum Society at the Kingston Butter Factory.

4 July Pride March | Meet at 10am at the Red Bridge wearing your brightest rainbow outfits then join in the picnic with live music at the Logan River Parklands at Eagleby.

4 July Card collecting | Join us for a fun-filled day celebrating everything trading cards and collectibles at the Hunters Card Show. There will be Pokémon, One Piece, sports cards, Anime Collectibles and pop culture from 9am-4pm at the Clunies Ross Centre, Eight Mile Plains. Free. Book via TryBooking.

4-5 July Antique fair | Browse through an expansive indoor layout of unique vintage finds, rare vinyl records, historical coins, and retro items at Collectormania Antique, Collectable, Record and Coin Fair. It starts at 9am and runs until 4pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday at the Distillery Road Market. Free entry.

6 July Doll talk | Bring a favourite doll and be prepared to learn about many types of dolls at the Brisbane Doll Society meeting. The group gathers on the first Monday of the month from 10am-2pm at the Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre. Due to the small size of the room, children cannot attend.

7 July Pizza making | Young aspiring chefs aged 4-12 years can learn the authentic art of traditional pizza making during a hands-on culinary Bambino Workshop – at the Glen Hotel. It’s on from 9.30am. Cost: $35.

8 July Junior rangers | Spot signs of koalas in their natural habitat, learn to identify koala homes, discover other wildlife and find out how you can create habitats to help local wildlife thrive from 8am-10am at the Koala Guardians program at the Daisy Hill Koala Centre. 8 July Storytime in the park | Families with children aged up to 5 years can gather for interactive outdoor stories and musical songs. It runs from 9.30am-10.30am at Forestglen Park at Browns Plains. Free, no need to book.

9 July Barber skills | Teenagers and school students can learn foundation hair-cutting, styling and grooming techniques from professional industry educators at this hands-on workshop from 9am-1pm at Loganlea TAFE. Costs $40. Book via TAFE Queensland.

10 July Markets | Gather under the winter stars at Darlington Parklands for the Yarrabilba Mingle Markets. There will be gourmet food trucks, artisan craft stalls and local musicians alongside a baby animal farm, carnival games and specialty deserts. It’s on from 4.30pm. Free entry.

11 July Country music | Experience a massive one-day country music celebration at the Lasso Country Music Festival, headlined by international star Drake Milligan alongside top-tier Australian musicians. The festival features live music across two stages, artisan food stalls, merchandise booths and artist signing opportunities. It’s on from 2pm at Distillery Road Market. Ticketed. Book via Oztix.

11 July Cross Country | Cheer on young athletes at the Queensland Cross Country Championships, which is also the official national team trial. It runs from 9am-5pm at the Jimboomba Little Athletics Club grounds.

11-12 July Carnival of words | Meet authors and have your books signed at Queensland’s largest indie and local author festival. There’s storytelling and face painting for the kids too.It’s on from 10am-4pm at the Distillery Road Market at Eagleby. Free, book via Eventbrite.

11 July Rotary dinner| Themed “Boots, brims and barbecue, this civic event marks the official leadership transition for the Rotary Club of Jimboomba. It opens at 6pm with dinner starting at 6.30pm at the Jimboomba Community Hall. Cost $70. Book via Humanatix.

14 July Adult ballet | Join this class for beginner ballerinas or those who learnt as children from 7pm on Tuesdays in Term 3 at Intrinsic Studios, Parfrey Rd, Rochedale South. Cost: $7. Book via Try Booking.

17 July Aeromodelling | Witness a spectacular three-day national remote-controlled helicopter festival featuring aerial acrobatics, competitive flights and live commentary at the Boomstrike 3 – RC Heli Jamboree from 8am at LARCS, Burchill st, Loganholme. Free for spectators.

18 July Country markets | Discover one of the region’s largest historical school fundraisers boasting hundreds of diverse outdoor market stalls spread across the expansive Jimboomba State School oval at the Jimboomba Country Markets. It’s on from 7am. Free entry.

22 July First Nations culture | Celebrate rich Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture at the NAIDOC for JAJUMMS community festival for families and young children at Springwood Road State School. It runs from 9am-2pm. Free. Book vie Eventbrite.

25-26 July Mt Gravatt Show | Put in an entry or go and explore animal nurseries, local arts and crafts and regional livestock or have fun on the rides at the Mt Gravatt Show. It’s lon from 9am-4pm at the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds. Book tickets through the Mt Gravatt Show Society.

31 July Ashton’s Great Australian Circus | This classic all-ages live performance features spectacular acrobats, comedy, and traditional circus arts under the big top. It starts at 7pm at Waller Park, Browns Plains. Ticketed. Book via Oztix.
