At Woodridge State High School, staff are united in the shared belief and understanding that all students can achieve high standards given the right time and right support.
The school has strong ties to the local community, to enhance social connections and ensure students have access to a multitude of opportunities.
Our vision is that we value-add to students over the course of their schooling, and they leave “Empowered, Resilient and World Changing!”
A wide selection of subjects is available, with student learning enhanced by specialised facilities and high-tech equipment.
Students are able to select a pathway that develops skills in academic, creative, trade, technical, business and sporting fields, and have opportunities to extend themselves through excellence programs.
These include high performance sport, the junior music academy, leadership in STEM — a
program that sees students working on projects under the guidance of multinational company Turner & Townsend — and leadership excellence and academic program.
Preparing young people for the future is a school-wide focus.
Woodridge State High School’s World of Work begins in Years 7 and 8 with “Discovery”.
Students investigate real world opportunities and possibilities, exploring the abilities and interests that will shape their future careers.
Years 9 and 10 is “Compatibility: a stage where students test their interests and talents”.
The final stage, “Readiness”, in Years 11 and 12, empowers students by providing them with a thorough knowledge of the many options available to them, and by developing work-ready and further study skills and contacts.
At Woodridge State High School, every student is recognised as a whole person.
Wellbeing is a high priority, with social and emotional skills being nurtured daily through careful and explicit teaching and through a respectful and positive school culture.
With families identifying from 41 countries, speaking over 56 languages, school culture is vibrant, dynamic and rich.
Students are true global citizens, enthusiastic, open-minded and ready to change the world.
Enrolments are now open for 2023/2024.
The Cultural Values of Woodridge State High School are “knowledge, faith and understanding”, and these continue to be as important today as they were at the school’s establishment in 1972.
This year, the school will celebrate its half-century with a spectacular 50th Anniversary Gala, to be held on October 22.
