Eagleby man charged after two Beenleigh incidents

An Eagleby man has been charged after two women were allegedly confronted in separate incidents on George Street at Beenleigh.

Police said a 24-year-old woman had stopped after a minor crash about 10.25am on 21 July when a man kicked and damaged her driver’s-side window and tried to open the locked door.

About an hour later, police allege the man approached another car stopped at a pedestrian crossing, verbally abused its 22-year-old driver and threw an open drink can through the partly opened window, striking her.

Her eight-month-old child was also inside the car. Neither woman nor the child was physically injured.

The 41-year-old Eagleby man was charged with offences including wilful damage, attempted unlawful entry, common assault, going armed so as to cause fear and obstructing police.

He was refused police bail and was due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 24 July.
