A three-quarter acre parcel of land in a prime development spot opposite the Hyperdome has hit the market.
A three-bedroom home still stands at 35 Abang Avenue Tanah Merah, but Elders Shailer Park sales agent Nathan Strudwick said the property was “brimming with potential” for a developer.
“The perfect buyer is someone who will unlock the property’s potential,” Mr Strudwick said.
“It can only go to the one buyer, but in ten years they’ll be very proud of the investment they’ve made.”
He said the 3331sqm block was “a very big property with development zoning”.
“Although you can find development sites all over, they can be very complicated to develop, and this doesn’t seem to be complicated at face value,” he said.
“All you have to do is look at the development around it to see the potential.”
The Queenslander style home features multiple living spaces both upstairs and downstairs with white-cladding and blue and green-coloured trim.
Darryl Maas, a family member of the property’s owner, said the home had been in the family since the mid-1970s.
“It was relocated from West End in the 1940s, I believe,” Ms Maas said.
It now sits on a long, mostly cleared, rectangular block framed by a range of large trees and greenery.
Mr Maas said a townhouse development could suit the parcel of land.
“Or for someone who wants a large block of land that’s close to amenities, schools and the Hyperdome, and obviously it is only 30 minutes away from Brisbane and the Gold Coast,” he said.
Mr Strudwick said Tanah Merah development was “booming”.
“In all honesty, if I was in a position to purchase this project myself, I would,” he said.
