Daisy Hill Squash and Racquet CIub is celebrating the success of a number of its junior members who competed at the recent Queensland SchooI Sport State Championships.
Seven players from the Daisy Hill club made the Met West team – Rohan Siddens, Kayden Canty, Brett LIoyd, Elaine Cheung, Josh Raj, J0el Raj and Omar Elkomy.
Luke Eyles represented the Met North team, winning the Under 19 Boys State Championship. Brett Lloyd won the U19 Boys Division 3, Josh Raj won the U15 Bovs State Championship and Omar Eikomy won the U15 Boys Division 3.
Kavden Canty showed great leadership skills as co-captain.
The Met West boys team were overall champions in the Under 19 and Under 15 divisions. And it was the second year running that the Met West team won the overall Queensland School Sport Championships.
Luke EyIes, EIaine Cheung, Josh Raj and Joel Raj made the Queensland merit team.
Capricornia, Darling Downs, Northern Peninsula and Wide Bay were also represented.
Daisy Hill squash coach Bradley Hindle said he was proud of his members who were given a day off from training on Monday to instead enjoy a small celebration at the centre on Friday night.
“Thank you juniors, parents and coaches. It’s because of you guys that we have such a fantastic group,” Mr Hindle said.
