Cyber secure seminars for business

New seminars are now available to support small and medium size businesses to become more cyber secure.

The Coalition Government is securing Australia’s economic recovery and safeguarding Australia’s digital future. From the 2nd of December a downloadable cyber security seminar for small and medium size businesses will be available across Australia. With more people moving online there are increasing malicious cyber activity against Australia’s national and economic interests, and small and medium size businesses are not immune.

The threat to small and medium size businesses is real, but not impossible to avoid.  There are simple steps all businesses can take to increase their cyber security, such as limiting administrator rights on office computers, backing up staff and client information so it can’t be hacked or ransomed, and increasing the complexity of passwords.

By securing their own digital assets and information, small businesses that participate in the seminars will be able to give customers and suppliers greater assurance that they can hold personal data such as email, credit card information, and customer profiles securely and responsibly.

The seminars have been developed with busy small businesses in mind, providing a package of easy-to-understand information that owners and operators can take away and share with their own networks, customers, and staff.

The Australian Government knows that cyber security is a key enabler of Australia’s economic recovery without it, our small and medium business who are the backbone of our economy could be held to ransom.

The seminars are available free online via the Australian Cyber Security Centre which can be accessed through the following web address: www.cyber.gov.au/
