Crime scene: police investigate ‘suspicious’ Browns Plains fire

Police have declared a crime scene at a business in Browns Plains after they say it was suspiciously set on fire.

At around 3am this moring, emergency services were called to the Enterprise Way business following reports it was “engulfed in fire”.

“Initial investigations indicate three offenders arrived in two vehicles, set the business on fire, and left in a dark-coloured hatchback in an unknown direction,” police said in a statement.

“A white Hyundai i30, reported stolen from Stafford on 22 August, was left at the scene.

“The fire, which caused damage to two businesses, was extinguished a short time later.”

Paramedics said no patients were reported at the scene.

Police are appealing for any information about the incident or anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or have vision in the area around the time of the fire to come forward.

Investigations remain ongoing.
