When local man Billy Johnson put an offer on his current home at Shailer Park, his wife was nervous the offer wasn’t high enough.
But luck was on their side, and they secured the property as their own.
“My wife fell in love with it straight away,” he said.
Now, one daughter and close to a decade later, they’ve put the property back on the market.
“The plan is to downsize and hopefully reduce the mortgage,” Mr Johnson said.
“I suppose everyone says this, but we’re quite sad to be leaving.
“But we want to send our daughter to a good school and don’t want to have to worry about the mortgage.”
Mr Johnson said they first chose the home for its unique look.
“My wife loves the Tudor look – it’s got a real European look to it,” he said.
“I really love the views, especially at nighttime – they’re quite breathtaking.
“Depending on what room you’re in, you’ve got views all the way down to the coast, all the way out west, and views of the Daisy Hill Forest.”

Set on a large 1,055sqm block, the brick home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, multiple living and entertaining areas and plenty of space.
The first floor has a fireplace in the living room, dining room, and kitchen, with views overlooking the backyard and swimming pool.
A timber staircase leads to the second floor, which boasts the four bedrooms.
The master bedroom is fitted with a walk-in-robe, ensuite and views of the surrounding trees and mountains.
Sales agent Johnson Teo said there was “also enough room here for a cot if you have a little one”.
“All the upstairs flooring have been fitted with hybrid flooring,” he said.
“Bedroom two has room for a study nook and great views of the pool, bedroom three has handy built-ins, and bedroom four has a built-in as well as a separate area that would be ideal for a study area or dressing room.”
Outside offers a large backyard, alfresco area and swimming pool.
“That’s all been done up,” Mr Johnson said.
“It’s quite private outside as well.
“All the homes on the street are on quite large blocks, so it gives you that sense of privacy.”
He said the street is quiet, and neighbours generally “keep to themselves”.
“But at the same time, you live on a cul-de-sac, so everybody knows everybody, so it’s really great for kids,” he said.
“It feels very safe for our young daughter.”
