A local police officer has been recognised for her “selfless and brave actions” when she comforted a man during his final moments at a New Beith traffic crash.
Mikayla Jesperson was recently awarded an Assistant Commissioner’s Certificate at The Logan District Awards Ceremony for demonstrating “calmness in extraordinary circumstances”.
She wasn’t the only officer recognised.
Locals Wil Buch, Mykel Holmes and Kevin Hollindale were also given a certificate for their leadership during a search that located the remains of a missing person in hazardous conditions in the Lamington National Park.
