Christmas donations for kids

In the lead up to Christmas, my electorate office is supporting a couple of incredibly worthwhile organisations to assist local families through the festive season and into the new year.

Through the Kids4Kids Foundation School Supplies Charity Box we are now accepting donations in my electorate office.

Thank you to the fantastic work of their youth ambassadors, who were kind enough to deliver the Donation Box to my door last month.

Kids4Kids provides school supplies to families in need and accept any new or good condition school stationery supplies including unused exercise books and Queensland year books for primary or school aged children.

The supplies really do make a difference for students.

Parents who are going through difficult points in their life, whether they are dealing with illness or strains on their budget – particularly during the current cost-of-living crisis – would otherwise feel like their child cannot attend school without necessary supplies.

The students who receive these supplies, also feel like they now truly belong in their school.

My office is also supporting Care Kits for Kids Qld Inc who create and provide free Care Kits to children across the state.

Run completely by volunteer, their Care Kits provide two days of practical essential needs, giving comfort and dignity, showing children in care or crisis that they matter and their community cares.

The Care Kits for Kids QLD Inc charity is seeking our community’s support in the form of donations of new clothing, toiletries, toys, education supplies, books and quilts to Queensland children in crisis or out-of-home care.

Any donations they can’t use does not go to waste either, it is passed on to others who can use it.
