Islamic College of Brisbane students were allowed to get up close and personal with some of Australia’s iconic wildlife recently during an interactive educational program.
Students were visited by Reptile Adventures staff and their assortment of wildlife, including pythons, lizards and frogs.
Children were given a short presentation and a “hands-on” session with the animals, which are comfortable with being handled and being around people.
ICB CEO Ali Kadri said the incursion gave the college’s “brave” students a better understanding and appreciation of the diversity and importance of “our flora and fauna”.
“Apart from being interactive, the session was also a lot of fun for both the students and our staff,” Mr Kadri said.
“By featuring some of Australia’s wonderful and unique animals, the session was certainly entertaining and gave everyone a thrill, but importantly it was also educational.
“The children learned about key topics including what they could be doing to help preserve our remarkable wildlife and their habitats.”
