Butter Factors whips up arts delight

Logan City Council’s latest arts, culture and heritage plan has been adopted following “extensive consultation” with local residents, community groups and cultural practitioners.

The implementation of the Kingston Butter Factory (KBF) Cultural Precinct’s artists development program is among the first items on the new plan’s agenda.

The KBF program is designed to cater for creatives involved in drama, dance, music, contemporary performance, visual art, writing and comedy, as well as highlight “the support on offer from Council for emerging and established artists.”

To hear more, specialist staff from Logan Arts will host a soft-pitch session on Friday 15 September at KBF, from 5-7pm.

Lifestyle chair Cr Tony Hall said technology was a key element of the new plan.

“Digital technology will be used to bring art into the community outside of a traditional gallery setting,” Cr Hall said.

“This plan will help guide the services, events and facilities operating within our creative spaces.”
