Boys charged over break-ins

A 17-year-old Browns Plains boy is among those charged by police over an alleged series of break-ins across South Brisbane and the Gold Coast between 30 and 31 March.

Police allege the teenager was involved in incidents at properties on Skyview Avenue in Rochedale, Red Cedar Crescent in Calamvale and Redbud Lane in Robina.

At the Skyview Avenue incident, a woman was allegedly threatened with a knife and received an injury to her finger.

The boy faces 14 charges, including three counts each of robbery and dangerous driving, along with two counts each of burglary and attempted burglary.

He has also been charged with assault, trespassing and causing damage.

He was due to appear in Richlands Children’s Court last week.

Two other teenagers have also been charged.

An 18-year-old Coomera man faces six offences, including attempted burglary and attempted armed robbery, and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court.

A 16-year-old Coombabah boy has been charged with 14 offences, as well as a further nine offences allegedly committed in South Brisbane during December.

He is due to appear in Southport Children’s Court.

Police said “inquiries are ongoing to locate two other teenagers allegedly involved in these offences”.

Two other people arrested, aged 18 and 14, were released without charge.
