POLICE were recently called to an unusual car chase after people reported someone possibly trapped in a car boot.
When they found the car at Slacks Creek, there was indeed a leg hanging from the back of the boot, but it was that of a mannequin.
While the “person” in the boot might have been a case of mistaken identity, the driver of the car wasn’t altogether fortunate.
An inspection of the car found that it had three bald tyres, missing wheel nuts and the number plate was obstructed by cables.
The driver of the car, a 37–year-old Boronia Heights man, was issued more than $900 in infringement notices.
