Bold plan for all to thrive in magnetic Logan

A 50-year vision for Logan’s future has been formally endorsed, setting a long-term direction for how the city will grow, connect and create jobs.

Logan City Council has adopted Logan 2075, a strategy built around seven goals spanning transport, the economy, the environment and community life.

The framework is intended to guide where development happens, how people move around the city and how opportunities are created over the next five decades.

Mayor Jon Raven said the plan responded to the pressures and potential of a rapidly changing city.

“Everyone has heard me talk about Logan being the youngest, fastest growing and most diverse city in Queensland,” Cr Raven said.

“Those three things might sound like throwaway stats, but they come with huge responsibility.”

The strategy includes a focus on better transport connections, a stronger local jobs market, greener spaces and ensuring residents can access services and opportunities closer to home.

The council said the plan reflected extensive community input, with more than 1000 people contributing through surveys, workshops and targeted engagement with young people, First Nations communities and culturally diverse groups.

The endorsement follows earlier work under the Transform Logan program, launched after the 2024 election to map out a long-term vision for the city.

As part of that process, a 50-person community reference panel, designed to reflect Logan’s population, helped shape early priorities.

The group called for improved public transport, more housing near essential services, expanded training pathways and efforts to attract new industries and tourism.

The council previously said the panel also highlighted the importance of creating more opportunities for residents to work locally.

The Logan 2075 endorsement marks the end of the program’s first phase, with future stages expected to break the vision into shorter-term milestones and track progress over time.
