Blind pooch Meika was last week named Logan’s most photogenic pet in a competition run by radio station 101fm.
Meika trumped other animals to take away $150 worth of pet gear.
Monday morning host Mike Bennett, who ran the competition, has his own rescue dog Fletch.
Mr Fletch is himself a touch famous, having his own 2021 calendar.
“Our listeners didn’t let us down and we really were spoilt for choice from prima donna pooches to fabulous felines and even an exotic bird,” Mr Bennett said.
Meika lost her sight at just 18 months of age yet she still has a great quality of life and is a very happy and content girl, owner Dana Skelton said.
“Her vision loss happened very quickly, almost overnight but she has adjusted so well and she still swims and runs around the yard. She
occasionally bangs into things but nothing really bothers her.”
Mr Bennett will be running another photo competition, this time asking people to dress their pets in their finest costumes.
