IF you live in Boronia Heights and surrounding suburbs, you may have heard that recently, with Member for Algester Leeanne Enoch and Logan City Councillor for Division 7 Tim Frazer, we held the Logan West Seniors Expo.
We had some really informative presentations from a variety of community groups and service providers and government organisations.
As well as a lovely morning tea, three local residents walked away with raffle prizes.
A big thank you to all the guests for coming along, including our stallholders.
It was great chatting with both old and new faces of the community.
Please remember, if you ever need help with seniors services, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office for assistance.
As we draw towards the end of the year, many of our young locals will be saying goodbye to their primary and secondary schooling journeys.
These are some of the most important times of their lives to this point and we should all come together as a community to celebrate it.
Whether you have relatives, neighbours or friends who are graduating from Year 6, or Year 12, we need to acknowledge their efforts and their achievements.
The future and the changes it brings can sometimes be a bit daunting for graduates, and reassurance that they’ve done well can be really impactful.
Residents have been reporting that fire ants are on the move again in Logan.
With that being said, it would be good to remind the community that my office at 420 Yarrabilba Drive, Yarrabilba is a collection point for fire ant bait if you are in need of treatment for your property, local parks or footpaths.
If we can all do our part in slowing and stopping the spread of fire ants in our local areas, we have a better chance at eradicating the pests.
If you want to secure some shakers at no cost to you, please call my office at (07) 3445 2100.
If you are also a member of a community group in the South-West of Logan who needs a space to hold their meetings or small social gatherings, my office has a dedicated meeting room that is available for bookings free of charge with moveable tables and a TV with HDMI input.
If you are looking to book or check the space out, please send my office an email at logan@parliament.qld.gov.au.
