Logan police have warned local residents to secure their registration plates with anti-theft screws.
Stolen number plates are used to disguise vehicles while committing crimes and also to make unregistered vehicles appear registered.
“You should regularly check your vehicle to see that both plates are still in place,” a statement from the Logan District Prevention and Engagement read.
Locals have been told to consider using anti-theft one-way screws to make plates secure and more difficult to steal.
“A screwdriver is the only tool you need,” the statement read.
“Anti-theft one-way screws can be purchased from any automotive or hardware store for under $10.00.
“A small price to pay for peace of mind.”
