A new lifestyle centre is coming to Bethania with construction to begin in the coming months.
Bethania Lifestyle Centre is set to be built on the vacant land across from Bunnings Warehouse on Glassons Drive and will feature 15 retailers, a medical centre and over 388 carparks.
The centre will add to an already bustling retail precinct, with Aldi, KFC, Guzman y Gomez, Zarraffa’s and United Petroleum just across the road.
Kiran Van Breeman from Prime Document Solutions on Glassons Drive said the centre will be good for business.
“We are happy to see some development in the area,” she said.
“We think it will be good for business and also beneficial for the aged persons in the area with services close by.”
“I also think we will get more exposure and hopefully it will bring more foot traffic.”
Local resident, Michelle Parker said it will create more jobs in the area.
“I think any improvement or opportunities to create more jobs and help the community is very beneficial,” she said.
“I think it will be great for the community and the area does need more shopping options that we can all benefit from, as long as it’s not all just take-away and fast food.”
Mrs Parker said nearby aged care homes will also benefit from the centre.
“There are two nursing homes nearby, so it’s a great idea especially for the older people that live close.”
According to Logan City Council, Logan city is one of the fastest growing areas in Southeast Queensland with the population expected to grow 20% by 2026 and exceed 500,000 by 2036. Bethania has more than 150,000 people within its primary catchment area.
Bethania Lifestyle Centre is being exclusively managed by CBRE Australia. There are five retail spaces left for lease.
