The Beenleigh station Park n Ride is set for a $30 million upgrade as part of Queensland’s plan for economic recovery.
Member for Macalister Melissa McMahon said an additional 400 parking spaces would be built near the station for commuters.
“The park n ride in Beenleigh’s CBD is often at capacity either side of the rail line, so this project will provide some relief for commuters who drive here and catch the train,” Ms McMahon said.
The funding will see a potential site at Intercity Circuit transformed into a multistorey car park.
Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said a feasibility study had been done and detailed planning had started.
“Today’s funding announcement means that once that detailed planning is done, we can get shovels in the ground,” he said.
