So let’s blow all the smoke away and ask the question.
Why does the government want to legislate an advisory board on specific policy matters?
Without any doubt this will slow down decision making and further ‘muddy the waters’ on responsibility of decisions made.
Another layer of bureaucracy costs the public purse and much needed funds elsewhere.
To me, that sounds like the perfect emergency ‘cop out’ legislated forever, should future decisions by every future government not work as planned.
Our government would never legislate a ‘cop out’, I hear you say.
When is their next CPI linked compulsory pay rise due?
That they will say they don’t want but are legally forced to take.
I am sure EVERY Australian wants every disadvantaged person in this country assisted.
Every Australian is already represented and has a voice in parliament.
If your elected representative is NOT doing their job adequately then vote-in another who will, but most certainly DO NOT give them an emergency ‘cop out’ exit by having an advisory board they can point to and say they advised that decision.
It wasn’t me!
Think very basically and carefully who actually benefits and who becomes accountable by a simple yes or no vote.
Make our politicians accountable.
